If my math is correct, it was the year 2004 when Rachel, our Oklahoma girl, packed up her bags and her Oklahoma roots and moved on out to the Golden State to attend Cal Lu University. Fast forward some months, and Rachel found herself in a group of friends that she adored. One such friend was Rob. But although Rob always piqued Rachel’s interest, they didn’t share much other than hangout spots, as Rob was usually in a relationship. Graduation came, and Rachel once again packed her bags and headed home to Oklahoma. But 6 months later, Rachel received an email from her best California friend, telling her that Rob was single. And Rachel, being quick on the draw, began emailing with Rob daily. Some months later and Rachel was flying out to California once more to check out a Master’s program at Cal Lu…but also to check out Rob. Rachel and Rob spent her entire 10 day trip together, and although Rachel had decided to return to California and enroll in the Master’s program, her and Rob’s goodbyes to each other were the hardest goodbyes they had yet faced. And they knew.
The rest of Rachel & Rob’s story is, as they say, history. But what’s really neat is that we get to come alongside them and help tell their story through photographs. As Rachel and Rob spent many first dates at the Ventura Pier, grabbing food and walking the boardwalk, we spent the first part of their engagement session there before heading into the hills for a few more sunset shots. They are the sweetest, most thoughtful couple, and we are truly excited to photograph their wedding at Hartley Botanica this coming August! Rachel & Rob–thank you for such a great session! You guys truly feel like old friends…and we’re so excited for you both. Enjoy! :) –A&N
