If there was one word to describe Katie & Ryan, perhaps it would be selfless. During the course of their wedding day, they made small changes to their schedule in accordance with what they felt seemed best not for them, but for their guests. Katie waited for all three of her sisters to arrive before putting on her dress because she wanted them all to be included in that special moment. For their sparkler exit, Ryan thought it best to walk instead of run so they could look into the faces of their family and friends and convey to them their gratitude.
But their selflessness wasn’t only for their guests, but for each other, too–and perhaps that was best demonstrated during the ceremony. Katie choked back tears during their vows, and afterwards Ryan reached into his back pocket and pulled out a handkerchief. They had been standing in the sun and heat, and he used the handkerchief to wipe his eyes and brow…and then he reached out and touched his bride’s face, too, blotting her tears and making her smile. And when they began to walk down the altar steps as man and wife, Katie lost her balance just a little–but Ryan grabbed her hand and held her steady. And with that, this selfless couple laughed their way down the aisle and into their new marriage.
We truly enjoyed getting to know Katie & Ryan at their super fun Ojai Engagement Session and over some incredibly tasty burritos ;) …and we count ourselves so blessed to have played a small part on their big day. Katie & Ryan–thank you! So many blessings to you both & happy happy marriage! :) –A & N To see more images from Katie & Ryan’s wedding, watch the slideshow below. Music by A Fine Frenzy.
