A COUNTRY WESTERN AGOURA HILLS WEDDING // BILL & CLAIRE

The sun was setting. Couples were sitting hand-in-hand, adorned in leather boots and cowboy hats. And there, amongst the haystacks and strung lights, Bill was strumming his guitar and singing Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight into the microphone. His voice rang out through the speakers, but his eyes were on her–Claire–his beautiful bride. And she perched on a nearby haystack, smiling brightly and completely radiant.

Just moments later  Claire toasted to her new husband, Bill. He, she said, was the missing piece to her pie. The sweetest piece. And now that she had him she was whole. That night Claire & Bill toasted and laughed, embraced and kissed, sang and danced together, and as the sun was setting, the sweetness of their love and wholeness filled the arena.

We were privileged to photograph Claire & Bill’s wedding at their Agoura Hills Ranch home. It was a blast, complete with the presence of their barn animals and more country western attire than we’ve ever before witnessed! ;) Not to mention we got to work with some of our all-time favorite vendors–Hallie Slade of La Boheme Events & her team styled and coordinated the day like a boss, and Amy Jordan of Stella Bloom Designs continued to amaze us with her florals. So many thanks to all of the awesome vendors (links at the end of this post) who worked endlessly to make this day so wonderful! And of course, to the wonderfully sweet bride & groom–here’s to having the whole pie! ;) So much love to you both! –Amanda & Nate

LIMONEIRA RANCH WEDDING // AMANDA & JUSTIN

One of our favorite parts of a wedding day is seeing two families join together and celebrate the bride and groom. Amanda & Justin’s wedding was no different, but this familial element was even moreso elevated at their wedding as they officially united not just as husband and wife, but with their children as one family, too. After their vows, Amanda, Justin and their children completed a touching sand ceremony, each pouring a different color of sand into a single glass frame, and I couldn’t help but smile throughout the day as I watched Amanda & Justin embrace and love not just each other but their daughter and son as well. In short, the day was filled with the elements that were most important to them–love and family–and we feel so blessed to have played a small part in it.

Amanda & Justin–thank you for allowing us to capture your lovely day! We’re so, so happy for you two & your sweet family. :) –So much love, A&N

OJAI RANCH WEDDING // ALEX & TAYLOR

Within 10 minutes of arriving at Alex & Taylor’s Ojai Ranch wedding, the fog that had clung to the mountains that morning had completely burned off. There was absolutely nothing but blue skies, chirping birds, fun bright flowers and a spectacular view of the mountains. The temperature wasn’t hot, it wasn’t cold. It was comfortable, and everything was just right.

“This is the perfect wedding,” we heard Alex say to Taylor later, while guests were mingling and celebrating the day. And it’s this attitude & excitement about love and marriage that both Alex & Taylor possess that made us fall in love with our job as wedding photographers even more. Alex & Taylor have laid a strong foundation for their marriage on their faith, and they face life with a sense of excitement and wonderment. Together. Their ceremony, officiated by Taylor’s Dad (who is the Pastor of this awesome church), was so personal and emotional. The day wouldn’t have been the same without Coordinator Essie Landsverk, Yamaguchi’s Florals, Ojai Pixie Cakes, Guitarist Guil Juliao, or Thoughtbox Photo Booth. Alex & Taylor–thank you SO much for being so sweet, warm & welcoming. We adore you two & are soo excited for your marriage! :)  –Lots of love, A&N

CARONDELET HOUSE WEDDING // KATIE & RICK

When we first arrived at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles on Saturday, one thing was evident: Katie & Rick could not wait to marry each other. Those were the first words out of Rick’s mouth when Nate entered his hotel room, and as I photographed Katie in front of her hotel room window, backdropped by the Staples Center, she paused a moment to breath and fight back tears. She was smiling as she regained her composure, stating, “I’m just so excited.” During their first look at Carondelet House, Rick could not take his eyes off of Katie and her stunning Tara Keely gown, and when she walked up the stairs to their courtyard ceremony he broke into a huge smile, as did she. Their personal vows to one another were equal parts hilarious and heartfelt, enveloping everything that they are as a couple and enough to pluck at even the hardest of heart strings.

Over the past year we have had the pleasure of getting to know Katie & Rick and it couldn’t be more plain to us that they belong together. They compliment each other so well, and truthfully we simply adore them. They have been so much fun to work with to the point that we refer to them not as clients, but as friends. And to top it off, their wedding was extra incredible thanks to the assembled team of truly amazing vendors– Hallie Slade and the girls at La Boheme Events made the day flow effortlessly with their impeccable coordinating skills, Amy Jordan of Stella Bloom Designs created the stellar florals, the delicious food was created by Tender Greens and Paradise Pantry, & the dessert from Nothing Bundt Cakes. We can’t forget to mention the perfectly adorable paper goods from Prim & Pixie or the sweetest Officiant Barbara Laughray. Katie & Rick–we were so honored to be the ones to document your wedding day. Truly. We love you guys! Cheers to your new marriage & this next chapter in your life! :) –A&N

BURBANK WEDDING // ANASTASIA & PHILIP

When we greeted Philip at the side entrance to Media City Church he was a bit nervous and quite excited. Anastasia was in a similar disposition as her four sisters and mother helped her into her dress & shoes. It wasn’t until we were on the way to Brand Park for portraits that Anastasia exclaimed that it had simply been too long since she had seen Philip–and that after their first look, her nerves would calm and all would be right with the world again. And nothing was further from the truth.

Rarely do you find a couple so sweet. We noticed how Anastasia & Philip seem to savor small moments in life, finding meaning and joy in the little things. This could be seen in all of the personal touches of their wedding–in the way Anastasia asked her sisters and mother to be the ones to clip her necklace and tie her sash, in a large batch of homemade cupcakes baked by one of Anastasia’s bridesmaids, in the fun table signs that detailed Anastasia & Philip’s life happenings… like the number of times they have been to Disneyland or flown on an airplane together. But most of all you could see Anastasia & Philip savoring moments throughout their wedding day–as she held his face during their first look, in the way he hugged her, inhaling her scent, in the way they sobbed and laughed together throughout the ceremony.

Anastasia & Philip–simply put, thank you! We hope you’re soaking in every moment on your east coast honeymoon…and may you always find joy in life’s little moments–together. :) –A&N
