Shasta stood in front of the vanity and inspected her makeup one last time. She adjusted her necklace and smoothed her dress. “Remember to breathe,” someone said quietly. That was it–the thing she was forgetting to do. Breathe.
She made her way down the staircase and through the pavilion where the reception would take place, squealing with delight as she saw for the first time her vision unfolding–white and navy linens, clocks in ever center piece (hands set to the appropriate table number), favor boxes positioned just so at every place setting. And then it was time. She walked through the glass doors and outside towards her groom.
There was excitement and anticipation in her step and she smiled her great smile as she rounded the corner to where Mike stood. Walking to him she tapped him on the shoulder. Mike turned and saw his bride for the first time on his wedding day–and he instantly smiled right back at her. “Wow.”
And for just a moment, I’m certain he forgot to breathe.
Below is what Nate & I saw on Friday at the Pierpont Inn, and we couldn’t have been more honored to have witnessed all of the magic that was the wedding of Shasta & Mike. Of course the magic couldn’t have happened without the help of some wonderful people: Sarah Pugh coordinated the day flawlessly, Jessica Cotner of Michael Kelley Salon made Shasta the image of perfection, Yamaguchi’s Flowers rocked the florals, Crushcakes delivered amazingness in the form of cupcakes, Rabalais’ Bistro created the handsome cake, and Jerry Gutierrez brought in the tunes.
Shasta & Mike, thank you! You are both equally amazing, hilarious and oh-so-perfect for one another. We’re so blessed to have been able to work with such an amazing couple and to have made two sweet friends. We sincerely hope you are relaxing and drinking lots of umbrella-d drinks on your honeymoon! ;) Lots of love, A & N
