The sound of bagpipes pierced the air and Megan, on the arm of her father, walked steadily down the aisle. She smiled at her guests, making sure she really saw them as she passed, and then her eyes met his. Colin’s jaw dropped as he finally saw her–his stunning bride–for the first time.
During the ceremony, they each lifted a glass of sand–Megan’s from the California coast and Colin’s from the shores of Scotland–and together they poured into a single jar, combining the sands of their homelands. They laughed as the sand from Scotland, still damp, stubbornly poured out in clumps, but eventually sand joined sand.
Like the sand, Megan & Colin’s journey hasn’t been perfectly smooth. There’s a lot of riddle to be solved in a (very) long distance relationship. But with a little patience and a lot of laughter, these two have learned that no puzzle, distance, nor amount of visa troubles could get in the way of the inevitable. And eventually sand joined sand last Friday, when Megan and Colin joined lives.
Megan & Colin were married at the Glen Tavern Inn and we fell in love with the traditional Scottish elements of the day. Bagpipes & kilts? Yes, please! ;) We had an absolute blast documenting this tremendously sweet couple on their perfect day. Megan & Colin–thank you sooo much for including us on your beautiful journey. Enjoy this amazing time in your life–finally–together. :) –So much love, A & N
